Lost for Words

Saw a great movie last night called "Words and Pictures" Clive Owen & Juliet Binoche. Well worth the $1.50 I paid for it and more. You should check it out.  Makes me want to go out and get a giant mop brush and paint like crazy.

On another note. I really need someone with more words than I have to work on the blog and Facebook page. So if you are a social media maven give me a shout.

You Know You Really Want to Volunteer So Here are Some Ideas To Get You Started

Things you can do as a group or individually to help the project: 
Pick one or more
Things to do before the event if you are busy on the holiday:
• Talk about it to everyone you meet!
• Ask for donations of: cash, food, ingredients
• Go shopping (either on your own money or if that is a burden get a
shopping list from Meera and she will give you cash
• Cook: before or during
• Help Set- up/decorate on Wednesday Nov 27 (12-4)
Volunteer on the day of the event Nov 28, 2013 (All or part)
Remember the Lord loves a cheerful giver and so do I! So I want you to
do only what you want to do and only that which will bless you and make
you happy (hard work is not necessarily miserable work)..
Volunteer check-in is 1 pm or later: 

Volunteers are not expected to work the entire time, nor do they need to stay in the same task all day.
They are, however expected to have FUN! And EAT!
Volunteer Opportunities on the day of: I could also use some people
who will coordinate these areas and the volunteers
• Transportation:
• Kids Room handlers: Oversee and engage kids in activities
• Kitchen Help: Cook
• Kitchen Help: clean, pots, pans, dishes
• run food from kitchen to the food line
• coffee servers
• table bussers
• food servers
• greeters
• “Share the Love” Ambassadors:
• Security
• Doggie Zone: handlers Oversee and engage the doggie guests
• Clean Up: Stay All Day or Come later help clean up and Pack Up

First Things First

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving Celebration this year.  Exceeding expectations on all levels.  I will post to that in a few days.  However here is hoping that people are still reading this post Thanksgiving.  I need everyone's help.  Someone has stolen Hoover the wonder dog. He disappeared from home base Friday morning Dec 14 2012, here in Tahoe Vista.  I say stolen, because he is a home body and a mama's boy to boot.  He has lived in this house for 10 years and knows his way around quite well, since his Uncle Jim has hiked him and biked him and skied him and snowshoed him whilst I walked him, drove him and swam him.  He knows where he lives and how to get here from many points around the basin ( and Truckee too).  So I am fairly convinced that some well meaning (I hope) stranger loaded him up in their car, (which wouldn't have been easy since although friendly he is very reserved with people he does not know well and will not get into cars without hmmm very strong coercion (read force). He is very allergic to many foods and has special diet needs. I need him home.  Please post to all the social sites so whoever has him will realize that he has a great home with people who love him and care deeply for him and want him back..

I  really miss him. Please send him home.

NO PHONES, NO TEXTS, NO EXCUSES!  JUST SHOW UP!  NORTH TAHOE EVENT CENTER 8318 NORTH LAKE BLVD, KINGS BEACH CALIFORNIA OFFICIALLY THE CELEBRATION STARTS AT TWO. BUT VOLUNTEERS AND OTHERS ARE WELCOME ANY TIME AFTER NOON IF YOU CAN HANDLE CONTROLLED CHAOS AND HELP NOT HINDER THE PROCESS. STILL LOOKING FOR A DJ OF SORTS AND A DANCE INSTRUCTOR ANYONE WHO WANTS OR NEEDS A PLACE TO CELEBRATE ALL THAT GOD HAS GIVEN US. EVEN THE POOR WIDOW DONATED HER LAST 2 PENNIES IN GRATITUDE TO GOD.
